Having trouble with your stream?

Our training video distribution system was designed for an optimal streaming experience, but there are several variables that come into play. Before calling support, you may want to check these options to see if it solves the problem you're experiencing.

Can't open the stream?

If you are being greeted with a message saying that you can't open the file, you may be missing an important setting that instructs your player how to handle our streams.

Start off with opening your Windows Media Player and going to Tools > Options.

Options Tab

Click on the Network tab and verify that your options are set to the default settings listed below.

Network Tab

If you're missing the options in the Streaming proxy settings section, you may need to re-install the player. It isn't quite clear why these options get removed, but re-installing should get these options back.

Increase your Buffer

If you're noticing your stream constantly being interrupted with messages of buffering, you may be experiencing high traffic congestion on your network and just need to increase the time your player takes to download content before it starts playing.

With your Windows Media Player open, go to Tools > Options.

Options Tab

Once you've got your options open, select the Performance tab.

Performance Tab

Under the Network buffering section, choose the Buffer radio button and change the value to a higher number like 30. You may want to play around with this number until you find the setting that gives your connection an uninterrupted stream with minimal wait time.
